The Riverside Arts Market is located on the northern edge of the Riverside Avondale Historic District. In 2010, the American Planning Association (APA) designated Riverside Avondale as one of the 10 Great Neighborhoods in the country under the organization’s Great Places in America program.

The APA singled out the neighborhood for its approximately 5,000 historic and architecturally diverse residential, commercial and institutional properties, abundant parks and open space, emphasis on planning, and neighborhood advocacy efforts.

Riverside Avondale is Jacksonville’s premier destination for architecural enthusiasts, art lovers, treasure hunters, fashionistas and foodies alike. The Riverside Avondale Historic District is a textbook of Florida’s architecture from the 1870s to the early 1930s.

No other neighborhood in the state has such a diverse and extensive collection of architectural styles. The tree-lined streets are walkable and accessible, and locals and visitors alike flock to our historic shopping areas, which host some of the city’s best restaurants and boutiques.
