Bruce Sarafian

One of RAM's most popular street performers, Bruce Sarafian, is
arguably
the greatest ball numbers juggler in the world today. He holds numerous
juggling world records, and he was first listed in the Guinness Book of
World Records in 1993.
RAM visitors are spellbound as they watch Bruce Sarafian throw – and
catch – multiple objects during his many shows at the Riverside Arts
Market. The
objects often sail 40 to 50 feet into the air.
This world renowned juggler and multiple record-holder had modest
beginnings. “I saw jugglers on TV when I was about ten years old,
picked up some balls and tried it. Over the next few years, I taught
myself juggling with five balls, then tried clubs, then taught myself
to ride the unicycle.” Bruce currently performs on a 3-wheel 8-foot
super tall unicycle, which is the only known 3-wheel chain driven
unicycle in the world. This custom unicycle attracts loads of
attention.
He gets his greatest pleasure in seeing the awe, surprise, and laughter
on the faces of the crowds. But holding a few world records is nothing
to scoff at either. “I first tied the Guinness Book of World Record for
juggling in 1991, and beat the record in 1992,”
he said. "Then in 1996, I broke the record with 12 balls. That record
still stands, although one or two people have tied the record.”
Bruce's achievements
include juggling 6 balls for 7 minutes, 45
sec.; juggling 10 balls for 23 catches; juggling 11 for 15 catches;
making 80 catches of a 7 ball shower; making 32 catches of an 8 ball
shower; making 160+ catches with 8 balls; juggling seven ball
backcrosses and making 50 five ball backcrosses.
He holds several other juggling records—the ten-ball juggling record,
throwing and catching ten balls for 23 consecutive cycles without
dropping and the 11-ball record that he has held for 13 years, throwing
and catching 11 balls for 15 cycles. He also won the International
Jugglers’ Festivals three times now for juggling the most objects for
the longest period of time. Sarafian’s juggling generally includes fire
torches, blades, balls and clubs; his shows include an occasional
shoe or voluntary object from the crowd, though he tries not to juggle
the fire torches with the audience member’s shoe. “The fire torches
look scary—throwing and catching blades while riding a unicycle is wild
and
crazy, but it’s all fun!
Bruce has appeared in several commercials, has appeared on 2 different
episodes of the syndicated show "Double Dare 2000" on Nickelodeon, and
was even included as the answer to a question on the TV quiz show
'Jeopardy'. He has been a performing juggler at Universal
Studios, Islands of Adventure, Disney World, Sea World, MGM, and Animal
Kingdom, as well as casinos, tradeshows, festivals, fairs, and
corporate events throughout the United States.
His incredible skill and great sense of humor have helped to make him a
"RAM Superstar." He lives in Longwood, Florida.
